The GT86G5 Plug-in is a standalone plug-and-play replacement for the stock ECU and plugs directly into the stock wiring harness, with no adapter harnesses required, and comes with a sample mapping for a quicker tuning start. The GT86 G5 Plug-in uses the same powerful microcontroller and firmware as the G5 Voodoo Pro.

Designed for the 2.0L 4U-GSE/FA20 H4 engine. Compatible with manual and automatic transmissions.

Supported models:

  • Toyota 86, ZN6, 2012-2021
  • Toyota GT86, ZN6, 2012-2021
  • Subaru BRZ, ZC6, 2012-2020
  • Scion FR-S 2013-2016

For more technical information, see the Features and Specifications sheets.

In the box:

  • G5-GT86 plug-in control unit
  • USB-C connection cable
  • Locking USB-C extension cable for easy access to setup
  • 2 M6 screws for mounting the control unit in the OEM bracket
  • DTM4 CAN connection cable (pre-installed in the case)
  • Internet connection

Note:

Due to the very narrow location of the factory control unit, the installation methods for left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles are different. This applies to left-hand drive vehicles .
A right-hand drive version is available with part number 241-4000 .

2017+ models have some differences from previous cars and will not work with the sample maps provided in PCLink and standard plug-in ECU hardware.

  • 2017+ motors have a Hall effect start sensor instead of a Reluctor and therefore require the Trigger 1 type to be changed from "Reluctor" to "Optical/Hall" and the Trigger 1 pull-up to be set to ON.
  • 2017+ engines have a different DI fuel pressure sensor than previous models; this sensor has 4 pins instead of 3 and requires an 8.2 kohm pullup resistor to be connected between C7 (An Volt 4) and 5V, the DI fuel pressure source is changed from An Volt 3 to An Volt 4, and the pressure calibration is changed to 0 kPa at 4.06V and 30000 kPa at 0.46V.
    • Control of both direct and port injection
    • Full OEM CAN bus integration
    • Checks both manual and automatic transmissions
    • CNC machined aluminum container
    • OEM position support
    • Includes a locking USB-C extension cable for easy access to setup
    • Comes with a built-in DTM4 CAN cable and power supply
    • Full factory electronic throttle control (DBW)
    • Full VVT-i control
    • 512 MB of built-in data logging, up to 250 channels and 100,000 samples per second
    • It runs on Link's popular PC Link, giving you the confidence to get started right away
    • Backed by Link's Limited Lifetime Warranty

    * The GT86 plug-in does not support factory wideband sensors.

All Link Plug-in control units come with the following features as standard:

    • Plug and Play: direct replacement of the factory ECU, no need for adapter frames.
    • All motorsport features enabled: anti-lag, boost control, cruise control, gear shift control, nitro control, launch control, paddle shift control, race timer and power management, rolling anti-lag and traction control
    • Two CAN bus channels
    • An advanced fuel equation modeled with flexible fuel capability or a more basic "traditional" equation is available
    • Exceptional adaptive knock control or traditional threshold-based knock control.
    • Built-in 3-axis accelerometer
    • Oscilloscope a trigger integrator
    • Real-time user-configurable math channels running in ECU
    • Highly flexible and user-configurable CAN bus inputs and outputs. Supports most third-party CAN bus devices.
    • CAN Keyboard Control
    • Flexible motor protection limiters
    • PC Link Software: Optimization, visualization, and powerful log analysis, all in one package.
